Angora and Wool Sweater
Made To Order
Each Aase Sweater is created with handspun wool from our Angora rabbits and paired with a strand of pure wool yarn from our flock. The sweater is timeless and ready for a lifetime of wear. Our rabbits are housed in open colony living, where they enjoy the companionship of their fellow barn mates while they have complete freedom to express their natural characters in open, bright, clean housing. The rabbits are groomed regularly and their wool is gently sheared once their fleece reaches optimal length for yarn. After shearing the Angora wool is handspun by Aase here on the ranch. Our sheep roam rotational grazing pasture systems to ensure the sustainability of our land, and are welcomed into the barnyard every evening where they are free to choose sleeping in our naturally lit barn or open pasture. Their fleece is sheared each spring by our favourite sheep shearer, Pieter DeMooey of Saanich, BC. Once the fleece has been skirted, it is washed and milled into yarn for an entirely Canadian grown, processed, designed, handknit, adventure-ready sweater.
